Hey D. I noticed that the fish oil dude (or dudette) has now changed his (or her) template to Blue Sense. Still not a fan of the thin content but it is much better than it was before.

Good article,

I think some people have jumped on the bandwagon thinking its easy money and without realising the emphasis is actually QUALITY content. John does state this.

I'm all for the crappy sites to be deindexed as it directly affects all those hard working people like us who actually spend a lot of time writing quality content that des add value to readers. Your above exmaple is not uncommon and Ive actually seen worse.

What I do is create different themes for Wordpress based around the same layout but you probably could nto tell is an 'XFactor' site although one does tend to tweak it slightly.

Anyway, just my £0.05.

Regards
Zaheer

Hi Dusty.
John has stated from day one of his ebook being released that people should develop their own template. Turning his system into a BANS or Nichedevil is the exact reason why John didn't didn't release his template to the masses. The site you have mentioned looks like john's but it does appear to be a wordpress template which john's is a static HTML template. I just checked the source code and saw he has several wordpress plug ins installed that are visible in his code. The only people that are going to suffer with this way to earn money are the people that have stolen john's template code and used that example.

I do agree that there are probably going to be a lot of half ass sites built but those sites will probably be banned or deindexed because the lack of quality content. John did stress several times that the purpose of these sites is to supply them with original quality content. That is why he is is successful. He didn't just throw up a bunch of irrelevant pages that were keyword stuffed. He supplied quality content.

The successful people will be the ones that provide decent content and that come up with a version of their template that is similar but not a spitting image of John's.

Hmmm I do see what you mean about the content on that page. They could have easily thrown up a few product reviews to flesh it out, and then they'd actually be delivering too. I would be worried about Google taking notice. I've been creating X Factor sites. I have a very similar template, though I've made sure to make my pages longer, and each one contains a different bit of useful info. I must admit, I'm worried too at how popular this has gotten. Many people can even find the template without buying it, just like you have, which means it spreads even more. I also tend to think that the creator, John, is going to see a hit to his earnings from the competition.
