Passive Income Report: September 2009

1 October, 2009 (17:08) | Passive Income, Passive Income Challenge | By: Dusty

October is going to be a great month as far as my passive income earnings are concerned. I am going to absolutely kill it!

I spent the better part of last night outlining my plan, fine tuning my sites, and securing a few additional domain names. The goal is to pump out as much content as I possibly can, without sacrificing the quality of the content I produce. What I really need to do is take a few hours and train my Dragon to recognize my mumbling! Seriously, that program is cool.

Regardless, I did manage to create 7 new articles for eHow (all within the last couple of days of the month), 40 articles on ezinearticles and around 10 posts on various niche blogs that I have set up. What I plan on doing differently in October is to simply focus on 3 niches, and not the 20 that I thought would be good, and create 3 to 5 articles per niche every other day. It is a ton easier since I purchased Micro Niche Finder. That piece of software really helps find ‘buying’ keywords and saves me a ton of time.

So! How were the numbers?

Affiliate Sales: $176 – I did OK this month with regards to affiliate marketing. I only spent 4 hours working on these campaigns so I feel like I did well. The 40 articles I wrote for EZA were all promoting new CPA campaigns, which have not produced a single sale….YET. I hear they convert better than clickbank or paydotcom but I have not had that experience so far.

eHow: $75 – Pretty decent numbers since I only added 7 new articles and did no article promotion. I hope to write one article a day on eHow and see if I can get my earnings over the $100 mark in October!

Amazon: $136 – Yeah baby. Every now and then I hit a few good sales. Someone clicked on a link for a book and ending up buying a fire proof safe, netting me a cool $100. You never can tell, can you?

Swagbucks: $25 - This site still makes me money month in and month out. I love it!

CPC: $2 – I suck at Sniper sites. I just cannot figure them out. I will though. It will just take some more effort!

Total Passive Income Earnings – $412

While $412 is not much to speak of, it is 82% of my goal for December 2009. I honestly believe that I will reach my goal of $500 in October. So much so, that I have challenged my brother to a little online competition. He actually thinks this stuff is easy…that makes me laugh! He is smart though, so he may be able to figure it out! You can check out his little blog at Almost Passive Income.

For 31 days, starting today, we are going to see who can generate more NEW income. By new, it means that everything must be created, started and earned in October. This is fair since I have a few One Week Marketing campaigns that drop a few sales each month into my bank account! Almost any form of passive income can be used. Things like yard sales and eBay do not count, as that would make it way to easy on him. He has more junk that I do!

How did you do in September? Are you still working towards your goals?

Passive Income Results – November (2008)

1 December, 2008 (21:46) | Passive Income | By: User ImageDusty

Like my friend over at Passive Family Income, I have decided to compile the amount of money I have made each month from passive income streams. While I agree with PFI, that writing articles and sponsored posts is not truly passive, my goal is to generate incremental revenue above and beyond what I make at my normal job. Each month, I plan on adding a new source of passive income, with the ultimate goal of having this income pay my mortgage. As you will see below, I am a long, long way away from that goal.

Passive Income Streams

Swagbucks : $30 – I use swagbucks as my search engine. Each time I make a search I have the chance to win swagbucks. Once I have earned enough, I trade them in for gift cards. Since Christmas is around the corner, I used 290 of my swagbucks to get two $15 iTune gift cards. This is such an easy way to earn some cool prizes. Please join via this referral link!

eHow: $31.90 – Wow! This passive income stream has really blown up for me. I have not spent a tremendous amount of time writing, or promoting, articles. Obviously, this needs to change. This site has tremendous upside potential.

Bukisa: $0.14 – I am not 100% sold on this site yet. Authors get paid per impression so if you are good at promotion and such, this may be a tremendous opportunity to generate passive income. I am not so good at that, so the 3 articles I have written have not received too much traffic.

CashCrate: $4.66 – I do not use this site that much. There are a few people who make mad cash each month with CashCrate. Pete, over at BibleMoneyMatters, put together a really nice post that explains how to use CashCrate. I wish I would have followed a few of those steps when signing up. Read his post here, but please join via my link.

Amazon: $0.00 – All kidding aside, Amazon offers a tremendous assortment of goods. I do get hundreds of clicks, but no sales. Of course, I am really bad at internet promotion, so that explains my lack of sales. With that being said, check out Fireproof. IMO, all married couples should see this movie. It is extremely powerful. Even if you do not buy it from my link, buy it somewhere. It can change your perspective on married life.

Smorty: $0.00 – I did not log onto Smorty at all this month. I concentrated on writing articles here and on eHow. Perhaps next month I will accept a few posts. The payout is usually $6 via paypal and they have always paid me on time. I just do not use them like I could.

Total: $66.70

While this is not great it is a starting point. Like I mentioned above, each month I plan on adding a new stream of passive income. In time, this may grow to an amount worth talking about.

So what do you think? Know of any good (and free) sites where I can earn some passive income. As a side note, I will not do any of those paid-to-click ad sites. I hate them.
